The Wall Meat Processing Plant’s new owners, Janet Niehaus and Ken Charfauros, have been operating the plant since April 4 and are now ready to celebrate the grand re-opening with the community on Friday, June 2.
On May 15, a group of Wall-Badlands Area Chamber members gathered at the Wall Golf Course for the May Chamber Mixer. Social hour for the event started at 6:00 p.m. and food was later served by SanDee’s.
On Wednesday, May 17, Wall wel-comed roughly 250 motorcyclists to the city. The Kyle Petty Ride Across America Charity Ride rolled into Wall just before 11 a.m. Mo-torcyclists stopped briefly to fill with gas at Wall Drug Auto Livery before heading to Main Street for lunch at Badlands Harley-Davidson. The group, led by former NASCAR driver and NBC Analyst Kyle Petty, was on a 2,400 mile route from Portland, OR, to Mil-waukee, WI, with a goal to raise funds and awareness for Victory Junction – a camp dedi-cated to providing life-changing camping ex-periences for children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses.
On Friday, April 28, the Wall-Badlands Area Chamber attended an event at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Known as Discover the Hills, the event allows businesses of the Black Hills and surrounding area to advertise to active airmen and their families based at Ellsworth. Our goal was to encourage them to tour the area during the time they are stationed in South Dakota, and mostly, encourage them to come Visit Wall!
