Wall Crawl Riding Into Wall August 4th

Wall will be crawling with excitement for the second annual Wall Crawl event on Saturday, August 4th. This all-day event features a poker run, show and shine car and motorcycle show, whole hog roast and two live concert performances.

The Wall Crawl will kick-off with a free will donation poker run to benefit the local Crescent Masonic Lodge #210. Registration will be held from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Wasta Bar, 42 C Ave., Wasta. The poker run route will start in Wasta, go through Wall and the Badlands National Park and end at the Wall Rodeo Grounds, just in time for the rest of the Wall Crawl action. Cash prizes will be offered for first, second and third place. The winner will be announced at 8:30 p.m.

 

The concert venue gates at the Wall Rodeo Grounds will open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and can be ordered by calling 605-279-2665. Tickets will be sold for $15 at the gate. A whole hog roast meal and a full cash bar will be available starting at 5:30 p.m. Wall Crawl t-shirts will be available for purchase at 5 p.m.

 

The Wall Crawl show and shine motorcycle and car show will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Wall Rodeo Grounds. Motorcycle and car enthusiasts are encouraged to show off their prized vehicles for a chance to win a plaque and $50 cash for the top people’s choice award, sponsored by M&M Sales, LLC. There is no cost to enter. The winner will be announced at 8:30 p.m.

 

The live concert performances will start with local band Loose Change at 6:30 p.m. At 9 p.m., 35th & Taylor will take the stage and rock the rest of the night. 35th & Taylor is from the Sioux City, Iowa area. The lead singer, Anna Taylor, was a contestant on season six of NBC’s “The Voice.” 35th & Taylor has opened for national acts such as Andy Grammar, Echosmith, and has played prior to Melissa Ethridge, Ratt, Firehouse and Bon Jovi.

 

“The Wall Crawl is the best of both worlds,” Cheyenne McGriff, Wall Crawl Co-Chair said, “You get the true local feel of Wall with local music, local food, and a ride through town and the Badlands National Park, but you also get a taste of the Rally without the crowds.”

 

“We hope to more than double our 2017 Wall Crawl attendance,” Kelsey Clark, Wall Crawl Co-Chair said, “We have more music, more food, and more excitement waiting for everyone who wants to rock the Wall Crawl with us.”
